I'm not dead.

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 15, 2008, 2:50 PM
  • Mood: Gloomy
  • Listening to: Sufjan Stevens - Casimir Pulaski Day
  • Drinking: Water
For anyone who's been wondering, I haven't died or anything. I've just felt super detached from the internet for the past several months despite being on it as much as I always have. School's been keeping me pretty busy too, so that's been a factor as well

I've recently decided that I really hate both what and how I draw and paint (which has been exacerbated by my being at school for art and being told what I'm doing wrong on a regular basis), so I'm going to be completely re-hauling both my style and subject matter over the next several months or years! So yeah, expect to see more traditional art, more texture in my digital art, and much more variety in subject matter (this means fewer dragons). I'm sorry if this disappoints anyone, but it's something I have to do! Hopefully the end results will be much better than anything I've done up to this point.

I can't wait for this semester to be over.

Less dragons?!

...can we at least get more Pooka?

(sorry to hear that you dislike your style/subject now. I know the feeling. I hate everything I write after about 20 minutes of finishing it)

Variety is a great thing. It's pretty easy to lock yourself in to your 'safe' subject matter.

I'm looking forward to your new work. Sorry I haven't really commented in a while - I've been busy as well. I still find a little bit of time to occasionally upload something, but it's hard to get around to commenting on everything these days.

Hope you get to upload some new stuff pretty soon! When does your semester finish?

I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE NOT DEAD
I WAS STARTING TO WORRY

And are you seriously going to be starting from scratch with your art/style? Cause I can see where you're coming from, and how that could help you grow as an artist in the long run, but it still seems like a pretty drastic step.

But what do I know?
I'm just in science.

Well, not completely from scratch, because I'll still have all of the knowledge and techniques that I got from learning how to draw the way I do now. I'll mostly just be trying to take the style in a different direction and drawing a lot of different things.
:iconpixlerelish:
Makes sense.

I found the same thing, I really need to expand shift my style around, got sick of everything I was doing entirely. :/

I'm loving the new style you're doing, your new style is really blossoming. You've really given me confidence to go and make that leap.
